The work in AP2 aims at a comprehensive description of the geochemical, hydrochemical and hydraulic conditions in the study areas (geosystem exploration). It is important to accurately characterize the groundwater captured by the wells or sampling points to be sampled.

The summarized data of the hydrogeological and hydrochemical conditions serve as an interpretation basis for the further chemical analytical (AP3), ecological (AP4) and ecotoxicological investigations (AP6). Furthermore, data on possible sources of anthropogenic trace substances serve to identify relevant stakeholder groups in WP7.
