Within the network, two investigation areas were commonly selected according to the network objectives, within which sampling points are identified. Based on the previous experience of the project partners of the LW and the IWW in the field of groundwater, samples with different degrees of pollution are selected. Therefore, the goal of AP1 is to first identify suitable sampling locations and second, to conduct this sampling along a concentration gradient of a contaminant plume so that varying levels of contamination are visible in the samples.

These samples will subsequently be provided to AP2, AP3, AP4, AP5 and AP6. For this reason, a key objective of AP1 is to define a detailed sampling plan, considering the different requirements of the disciplines involved.
