The sampling was carried out in cooperation with the WaRM project and the Hydrogeology working group of the Institute for Applied Geosciences at the Technical University of Darmstadt. In the Hessian Ried, the working group is investigating the infiltration of surface water from the Landgraben, which is heavily contaminated with treated wastewater, into the groundwater. For this purpose, three multilevel wells were installed at approx. 2.5 to 11.5 meters from the Landgraben, allowing water to be extracted at different depths.
In this sampling campaign water samples were taken from the wells and directly from the Landgraben, which are now being analyzed in the gwTriade project. In addition to the chemical analysis and ecotoxicological testing of the samples, an analysis of the environmental DNA (eDNA) is being conducted.
